Winnipeg Folk Festival

Winnipeg Folk Festival

Celebrate your love of folk music. Discover new artists. Sing and dance until the sun comes up.

Make your way 19 miles north of Winnipeg and join the thousands (60,000 per year!) streaming into Birds Hill Provincial Park for the Winnipeg Folk Festival. The atmosphere buzzes with excitement and expectation. Seven stages are alive with music: traditional folk, alt country, bluegrass, roots, gospel, blues, old time, world, Celtic and French Canadian. Old favorites, fresh faces, locals and performers from around the world entertain throughout the July weekend.

Time to stretch your legs? Stroll through the Hand-Made Village. Skilled artisans from across Canada tempt you with their unique designs and creations. Choose from an assortment of jewelry, clothing and musical instruments. Hungry? The Food Village, as diverse as the music, entices with its cultural cuisine.

Night falls, and all eyes turn to the main stage. The evening’s headliners strum their stories and reveal their hearts. Sweet notes serenade the stars. You and 10,000 others sway and sing in unison. You stand and cheer long after the final encore. The main stage shuts down, but the music carries on into the night. You head to your site in the festival camping area, where the party and the harmonies stretch right through until dawn.
